Let’s play ball!

Join us for Home Run for Life, a slow-pitch softball tournament fundraiser for the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center. Each participant is encouraged to join a team or form their own team of 9 (or more) players. The cost to play is $10.

Each team will play 3 innings of a slow-pitch softball game. The team with the most runs will be the “Home Run for Life” Champions! Scoring a run during the game is one way to get points. Another way is to fundraise ahead of time; Every $100 raised by a player equals one run! You can also sponsor a player to help a team score more runs. 

We would love spectators to come, cheer on their favorite team or players at no cost. Bring your blanket or lawn chair for a front-row seat! We will have a lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers after the games. For players, there is no cost for lunch. For non-players, lunch is $10.

Players can also sign up to compete in the HOMERUN DERBY to be played after the games. The entry fee for the Derby is $20 for 10 pitches ($1 for each additional), and the grand prize is 50% of total entries. It’s a 50/50 opportunity.

Plus the raffle will be back again. Raffle tickets are only $10.

Game Rules:

1. Each team must have at least 9 players.
2.  Each team will have three “at bats”.
3. Each player receives two pitches at bat—there are no strikes.
4. Players can be tagged out at base or if a fly ball is caught. However, 3 outs do not end the inning. Each team has 5 minutes to get as many runs as possible.
5. No sliding allowed!
6. Pinch hitters or runners are allowed for any participant who has raised money for their team.
7. Each team will play three innings, max time per inning is 10 minutes.
8. Team with most runs (runs earned or raised by funds) wins!
