A One-of-a-Kind Community Tradition

The Community Baby Shower is a unique partnership between 23ABC Bakersfield, the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center, and The Mission at Kern County. To our knowledge, no other television station in America hosts an annual baby shower of this kind to benefit local families. Together, our community collects thousands of essential baby items each year to support parents and babies right here in Kern County.

How You Can Help

Donate Baby Essentials

Bring new baby items to any collection site.

Most-needed items include:

• Diapers (newborn–size 7)
• Baby wipes
• Formula
• Baby shampoo, wash, and diaper cream
• Onesies, sleepers, and socks (0–12 months)
• Receiving blankets and swaddles
• Bottles and pacifiers (new in packaging)
• Infant thermometers and basic baby care items
• Gift cards for baby essentials

Host a Collection Drive

Churches, schools, businesses, and community groups can collect donations. We’ll provide promotional materials and collection information.

Volunteer

Help greet donors, collect items, or sort donations during the event.

Spread the Word

Invite friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to participate. Every donation helps local families.
